I was in need of a “me” day and this retreat checked off all the boxes. The setting was absolutely beautiful- we were surrounded by a canopy of trees with birds singing and were fortunate to get a gorgeous sunny day. The trees offered lots of shade and getting the chance to immerse myself into the cedar hot tub was heavenly. It didn’t even feel like I was in Toronto at all! Chef Mark offered up incredibly delicious and nourishing meals and snacks for all of us and I am still dreaming of the green goddess dressing on the salad we ate with our salmon at lunch. I loved the flow of the day. There were many activities and Kathryn and Ellie kept the pace moving without feeling rushed. My activities include yoga, massage and a physio assessment. I suffer from migraine and everything I participated in enhanced my overall wellness that day. I managed to have 6 headache-free days (which is a long stretch for me) afterwards and I attribute it to the physio treatment I got from Ellie, the massage from Mariya and the yoga practice from Kathryn.
Spending the day in the beautiful, tranquil garden made me feel as if I was transported to an exotic countryside, without having to take a long car ride or a flight. It was really healing to spend the day with like-minded women in the community. My favourite part was the sharing circle where each of us got to connect on what the experience of being with other women brings up for us. It’s precious to be able to go deeper with a group of amazing, kind, caring women. The retreat had fresh and flavorful food cooked on the spot by a private chef. It was also unique in having an experienced physiotherapist assess and treat you throughout the process, definitely an awesome benefit. The retreat left me feeling relaxed, refreshed and restored.
From start to finish, the retreat was well organized, planned, laid out, and executed. For someone living the busy city life, it was great to have an option of a day-retreat so I could still have this opportunity to recharge but not feel like I was compromising other priorities. The location was easily accessible. We also lucked in for the weather – just gorgeous. The property was also stunning. A quiet escape full of lush plants, singing birds, a gentle breeze, and a little water from the Japanese soaker tub in the garden. Lots of places inside and outside to sit, have a cuppa, and take it in. Having a private chef available to us was so pleasant. The food was flavourful, well-balanced, with lots of variety. Dietary restrictions were easily accommodated and the presentation was fantastic. It was a very casual and cosy environment. Relaxing, comfortable, and calm. Kathryn and Ellie guided us to keep us on schedule and we were able to maximize our time on all of the planned activities. The peers. Wow. Having this be an all-women experience from so many walks of life was really reinforcing and reaffirming in so many ways.
Kathryn is a wonderful yoga teacher who adjusts her classes with challenge and mastery for all.
I attended one of Kathryn’s day retreats and it was beyond amazing. It was a small group and we were pampered with great food, relaxing yoga and massage. Would love to go back again!
I absolutely loved the retreat put on by Be Still Yoga. The beautiful garden setting, yoga and massage, and the food laid out by our personal chef made for a truly wonderful relaxing experience.
I was incredibly fortunate to take my next foray into Yin Yoga at Be Still Yoga’s luxurious outdoor studio. Upon entering this magical garden, I was in awe of the carefully manicured landscape and breathtaking tree canopy over the well stocked and situated mats.
Kathryn expertly led the class through the various Yin positions with a lovely hypnotic tone that suited the environment. I loved every minute, learned a lot and am looking forward to trying one of her retreats in the future!
My retreat experience with Be Still Yoga was so restorative, and exactly what I needed. Kathryn is a skilled leader, yoga teacher, and host. She created a supportive and welcoming space where I could drop-in deeply and simply focus on my well-being and growth. I felt so well taken care of – from the attentive and specific hands-on work, to the delicious food that had options for many dietary needs, it was a gorgeous and well planned day. The retreat was only one day, but I felt as if I had been away much longer. Oh – and the garden is really a lovely spot, a true oasis in the city. I’d sign up again in a heartbeat!
